Beauty + Fashion | Four Ways to Switch Up Your Fall Style

Ah, is that a pumpkin spice latte I smell in the air? Fall is here and this girl is one excited chickadee. The season changing brings cool weather, the heavy sweaters, the dark lips and rich-toned eyeshadows and while I'm sad to see summer go, I love welcoming all these changes. Do you switch up your style or look for fall? I definitely do!

Today, I'll be sharing my top four ways I like to switch my style and kick it into full fall mode with Target Optical® and ACUVUE®!

  • Go dark with nail polish. It might be cliche but nothing gets me more in the mood for fall than a switch from bright summer shades to cool dark shades like navy, oxblood and olive green on my nails.

  • Lay the lotion on thick. Anyone else have skin that gets super dry once the the cooler season comes? I like to slather on a nice, thick lotion to give my skin the hydration it wants and needs. I recommend doing this at night so your skin can soak it in overnight.

  • Trade your sandals in for booties. Here in New England, fall weather is hard to anticipate. That's why I like to trade in my sandals for a nice, open-toed bootie that mixes the best of both worlds. Booties can be paired with so many different outfits from rolled up jeans and a sweater to a skirt and leather jacket.

  • Ditch the glasses for contacts. Just recently, I realized my contacts prescription was up and I was due for an optometrist appointment but as a mom with small children who see mommy on the phone as a cue to start a who-can-yell-the-loudest-competition, doing anything on the phone, nonetheless schedule an appointment, can get a little crazy. Half of the time I don't even remember what date I chose by the end of the phone call.

That's why Target Optical® online scheduling is a total gamechanger. You can now schedule your exam appointments directly on your phone or computer in less than five minutes. All you have to do is:
  • Pull up Target Optical® on your phone or computer.
  • Click on "eye exams" and then enter in your zipcode to find a location near you.
  • Click to schedule an exam.
  • Fill in your information.
  • Chose a time and date (so convenient that they have a calendar you can click through to pick the best date that works for you!)
  • Review to make sure everything is correct and then submit! Woohoo! How easy was that?

You can even sign up for text reminders for your appointment and we all know how much I need those!

I was able to schedule an appointment with a time and date that worked for me with no issues. When I arrived at my exam, I had a few papers to fill out and was taken in within ten minutes. Any mom knows how difficult it can be bringing children into a small room with them and I was kind of nervous the optometrist would be like, "Who brought these guys?" (kidding, kind of) but she was so professional and made the exam quick without feeling like it was rushed.

While I normally wear glasses, I decided to switch it up and try out ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses for fall. I'm so excited for them. With all the Halloween makeup tutorials coming up on the blog, it'll be nice to not have to worry about my glasses covering the look up! With contacts, I can pop them in and be on the go in seconds (but it's definitely a learning curve so if you're new to it, you can check out a pamphlet on how to put them in here)!

Do you wear contacts or glasses? Have you tried scheduling an exam online through Target Optical®?
