Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's all the hearts and kisses everywhere but I get so excited when it comes around! While I'd like to say myself and my fiance are romantic and lovey-dovey year round, we rarely have date nights. Like, never. We're such homebodies and play video games or watch movies all the time. So it's kind of nice to have one day where we go out every year to a real nice restaurant and dress up and all that fun stuff.

I plan on putting out a more dramatic V-Day look before this Friday but for now, I have a fun and simple look. As much as I love getting a glammed up, nothing is better than a simple cat eye and a sexy, bold red lip. I love the Naked Basics Palette because it contains almost everything you need for a gorgeous neutral eye or a fun smokey eye - all for $22!

I started out the look by moisturizing (with RevivaLabs Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester & DMAE Cream) and priming (with Benefit The Porefessional) my face. For foundation, I used L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in Porcelain/Light Ivory 1-2-3 and applied with a damp Beauty Blender. I took to my NARS x Guy Bourdin One Night Stand for the Laguna bronzer and Orgasm blush (of course my camera totally whited that out). Lipstick is OCC NSFW with It Cosmetics YLBB Lip Stain in Cherry Flush.

For my eyes: I started out with a nice nude base with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. Taking W.O.S. from the Naked Basics Palette, I patted this all over the lid. Then I popped Naked 2 into the crease and blended slightly upward. To slightly darken the outer v, I took Faint and blended it out. Lastly, I took Venus (my favorite highlighter shade EVER) and popped that into my inner corner. Y'all know I can't do liquid liner (although I'm trying!) so I took my Maybelline gel liner and thin brush from Sigma and created the line. Then taking my handy dandy Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, I flicked out the cat eye. Mascara is Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!

(I need a better background!)
