My favorite season is just a few weeks away! Fall brings so much fun with it. You've got pumpkin picking and leaves falling...and lots and lots of germs flying around. Which is why, especially around this time of year, we are loading up on alllllllll the vitamins to help boost our immune system!

One of our favorite ways to load up on vitamin A and C is through Sambucol Elderberry Gummies, Syrup and Powder. I know, I know. This is sounding like an ad right now and I mean, we are collaborating together on this post but I want to let you guys know how much we really do love this product. Back when I first started giving Hunter (before Brody and Sienna were even born!) vitamins, I was researching the heck out of everything. I was looking for a great, natural immunity booster and happened upon elderberry, which in turn brought me to the VERY highly recommend Sambucol and we've been taking it as a family ever since!

Did you know...

  • Elderberry is antiviral. That means it can loosen mucus which in turn can help prevent a little cough turning into something more serious.
  • Black elderberry has been used for thousands of years.
  • Sambucol gummies are sweetened with pure cane sugar and are gluten, nut, egg, soy and dairy-free.
  •  Hippocrates had called elderberry "a medicine chest" because the stem, bark, leaves, flowers, berries, and root extracts of the plant can and are all used in traditional folk medicine.
  • Black elderberries have twice the natural antioxidants of that from blueberries and more than 50% the overall antioxidant capability of cranberries.

The boys are OBSESSED with the gummies. I consider it a mom win when my kids are actually asking for something that's good for them and their immune system. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the powder. Just mix a packet into about 8 oz. of water for a really yummy, immune-boosting drink. The syrup is great by itself or you can mix it into yogurts, smoothies, etc.

Besides taking Sambucol, other great ways to boost your immune system:
  • Wash your hands (or use sanitizer if you aren't around soap and water).
  • Cough and sneeze into your inner elbow (is that the right term for it?). You guys know which part I'm talking about!
  • Get outside and enjoy the fresh air!
