Happy St. Patrick's Day (well, by the time you read this it will be) loves! You bet I'll be om nom nom'ing on the corned beef and potatoes tonight. So yum! My fiance's side of the family doesn't celebrate. Do you?

I'm such a huge fan of Rimmel's lipsticks but have never tried their foundation. Who am I, right? Last week, I was given the chance to try out Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. It claims to be "feather weight, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won't feel greasy or heavy." Let's see if it holds up to those claims!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory

Naturally, I had no clue what shade I was. The cool thing about Rimmel's site is that you can actually upload your own picture (or use a model that has a close skin tone to yours) and test the foundation shade. You can chose what foundation you want to try and if you want sheer, medium or full coverage. I picked out Ivory since it looked great when I "tried it on" and wouldn't you know; it was perfect match! Whoop whoop!

(No foundation. What pregnancy glow?)

The consistency definitely had me nervous at first. It's a thick mousse (well, duh) which usually doesn't bode well when applying to your face. This medium coverage foundation was pretty easy to apply (using an It Cosmetics Foundation Brush). I recommend moisturizing beforehand because this does seem to pick up and exaggerate on dry spots. Psh. Doesn't all matte products? Over the course of the day, this did keep my face nice and matte. I didn't experience any oil especially in my t-zones nor any cakieness although I did feel like this was slightly thick on my face. I think this foundation is PERFECT for picture taking because of how matte it is. I also think if you use a damp Beauty Blender you might get a more natural look with a more sheer coverage that some might be more comfortable playing with. I know matte can be scary but with the right bronzer and highlighter, you don't have to look one dimensional.

Overall, I really did like this foundation. It did exactly what it said it would do: keep my face looking matte. The only issue I had was that it was picking up on my dry spots like crazy so I definitely recommend moisturizing before applying.  This did feel thick throughout the day but never felt uncomfortable or that my skin couldn't breathe.
