Hey babes! Ugh, guys. We have the cold from hell this week. It's legit kicking our butts so I apologize for not getting this up sooner.

Recently, I tried the new ColourPop Lux Lipsticks ($7) and I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like them or not. I mean, their Lippie Stix are my favorite. How would these Lux Lipsticks compare? Let's find out!

Alright, Lux Lipsticks. Let's see what you're made of. No like, I mean like, literally! Vegan and cruelty-free (like all of ColourPop's products), these little babies have Acai, Jojoba and Pomegranate Seed butters to keep your lips soft, all the while protecting them against any of the environment's stressors (I'm talking to you, pollution!). All Lux Lipsticks (as of right now) have a satin finish.

And that packaging! Hi, these aren't ColorPop's typical trendy packaging (which I love, by the way) but honestly, this is far from it. Instead it's this beautiful, sturdy rose gold twist-up lipstick that gives off a super luxurious feel to it. They have small stars etched on the cap. I really, really like it. Hey, if you can give me the feel of a high end lipstick but only pay $7, I'm not going to be mad at that!

  • Getty - a deepened teal satin. Oh Getty. You are a shade after my own heart. You guys know how much I love my fun, bold colors and Getty isn't playin' with the color play off. It's pigmented, smooth, and in a strange way, so freakin' flattering. Like I could see almost every single skin tone being able to pull this off, no problem! PS. Getty stains!
  • Stone Fox - a pale creamy pink satin. Ah. Where do I start? Stone Fox, I had high hopes for you. You were supposed to be that perfect pink lipstick of my dreams! C'mon! *insert Tyra Banks gif of her yelling, "I was rooting for you!"* Haha, but seriously. I'm thinking it's just my light skin tone wasn't right for this shade because it came out kind of peachy on me. Still gorgeous, just not what I was hoping. Hey, it happens! I also wanted to note that while Stone Fox was the first one I used of the bunch, it deposited a bunch of little "bumps" onto my lips. Almost like pieces of something in the lipstick? I don't even know, guys. It was the only lipstick to do this so maybe I just got a bad one? Who knows.

  • Tip Toe - a light cool-toned nude satin. Tip Toe was a spur-of-the-moment buy but I'm so, so happy I threw it into my cart. Just like Getty, it's super smooth to apply and feels nice on the lips. Because Tip Toe is a light shade, I found that the lasting time with this wasn't very long. Maybe about two hours, tops, but that's not unheard of with lighter shades of lipsticks.

Final Thoughts: I really like them (minus Stone Cold because it doesn't look flattering on my skintone). The formula is interesting. It's lightweight and smooth but the lighter shades don't have much lasting power. Getty, on the otherhand, is insanely pigmented and stains (no biggie, though, just use an oil-based cleanser or even Micellar water to remove)!

Do they compare to the Lippie Stix? Not really but honestly, I can't pinpoint where. The feel of the Lippie Stix is more pigmented (if that's possible) and longer-lasting while the Lux Lipsticks are lighter. I know that doesn't make much sense but y'all, there's a difference - I just can't tell which I prefer yet.

I will definitely be adding more to my cart, the next time I order from ColourPop. The ones on my list to try next are: Pinkies Up, Money Side Up, Still Crazy, Ghosted, Friends, Humble Pie and 27.

Have you tried ColourPop's Lux Lipsticks? What did you think?
