Oh hot damn, Wet N Wild! Okay, I've been a long time fan but sweet kabobs - their newest collection have me swooning - and wanting so, so much more!
I recently saw the Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers display for Halloween at bmy local Walmart a few days ago and grabbed a couple of their newest goodies to try out. Total whim! Normally, I like to check swatches and what not, but I figured at $4.68 each, it wouldn't hurt my wallet too much if I didn't like them (plus, I think you can return them as long as you have the receipt).
I ended up grabbing the Color Icon Palette in Nude Awakening ($4.68) and the limited edition MegaLast Liquid Catsuit in Shall We Slay ($4.68) from the Fire & Ice Collection but oh man, guys, their display was pretty epic. They had a bunch of new fall palettes, really cool face stencils and rhinestones for Halloween looks, face paints and what not. I'll be heading back to grab some things for Halloween, for sure!
Let's see what all the hub-bub is about, bub.
MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick in Shall We Slay ($4.68) - Shall We Slay is a fun mauve gunmetal metallic. You guys know I love me some fun, funky colors and Shall We Slay does not disappoint. I read some reviews on ULTA that claimed that this was streaky and disagree. The first application is pigmented, but is about 85% opaque (maybe that's where one would find it to be patchy?). One more swipe on top of that and it's fully opaque, wearable and not sheer or patchy at all. I loved that I was able to layer coats on top of each other without making it uncomfortable or causing the bottom layer to move. I'm surprised others said this felt drying because, compared to other liquid lipsticks I own, this is definitely one of the most comfy. I also want to note that while the color in the bottle seems lighter than on the actual lips, I think that's due to the metallic finish. The flecks seem to catch in the bottle making it seem lighter. It being darker after application than in the bottle didn't bother me.
Color Icon Palette in Nude Awakening ($4.68) - I'm not sure what made me grab this but I'm SO glad I did. Upon some research, I found that Wet N Wild reformulated their Color Icon shadows and ya'll, they weren't kidding. I found each shade to be buttery soft, pigmented and easy to blend without sheering away. I'm going to go ahead and say - this one little palette right here rivals my higher end palettes. Like, that is how amazing it is.
That black and dark brown though! 😍
So would I recommend these? Abso-freakin'-lutely! Guys, I'm on a hardcore budget. As in, I'm on a no buy unless it's less than $10 or I'm in "treat myself' mode (the worst mode ever). The Nude Awakening Palette is everything I could've ever wanted in a fall palette. The shades are beautiful, they're pigmented and wear beautifully. I'm serious when I say I want to run back to Walmart and buy the rest (treat myself mode). The MegaLast Liquid Catsuit in Shall We Slay is beautiful. I normally don't wear metallics (I just never seem to grab for them) but I will definitely be rockin' this shade more.
Where to Buy:
