One of my favorite parts of beauty blogging is coming across and trying new looks that I wouldn't otherwise think to try out. It really takes you out of your comfort zone but it's always fun to see what works for you. I'm totally looking at you, cat-eye liner.
I recently watched a video where the girl used bronzer and blush to create a total eye look and thought, "SO genius!" So naturally I had to try it out.
I recently watched a video where the girl used bronzer and blush to create a total eye look and thought, "SO genius!" So naturally I had to try it out.
Unfortunately, I don't know the girl's name but she explained everything SO perfectly. All the products she used are drugstore so if you don't have a bronzer, blush or highlighter at hand, she has awesome choices that won't break the bank! Also, I don't know about you guys, but sometimes when I watch a makeup tutorial video, I have to pause and rewind a million times to catch up or re-watch something but with this one I didn't have to so YAY!
And here's my take on it!
(Crease: NARS Laguna | Lid: Deep Throat | Outer Lid: Goulue | Inner Corner: Devotee)
To be honest, I wasn't so sure how blush would look as an eyeshadow but surprisingly, it worked fabulously! I was afraid it'd give me the "red eye" look but instead I got this total "summer girl" vibe. Love it! It was basically like using a pink eyeshadow but a bit more sheer. I definitely recommend using a white base to really make these blushes pop.
What beauty products do you use in different ways? Would you try this look?

I've used an eyeshadow as a highlighter or to fill my brows.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I had no idea haha
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! I have used a eyeshadow like Shroom or All that Glitters by MAC as a highlighter in a pinch. But never have thought to swap with a blush to a eye shadow. Great idea!!
ReplyDeleteI love that blush palette <3
ReplyDeleteI´ve never used blush, bronzer and highlighter as eye shadows, but I am lovig the look you created!
ReplyDeleteI like how this turned out, I would try it for sure.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fresh face! You look great!
ReplyDeletei love using blush and bronzer on my eyes - bronzer makes a great contour color for the eye because it looks so natural
ReplyDeleteThis looks stunning! I am a huge fan of bronzer on the eyes and blush too!
ReplyDeleteI've tried sheer blush shades before
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty look using all face powders. Great idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI love using blush as eye shadow or bronzer as nice eye shadow contour shades. It's not always the case, but I do enjoy when I can double up on a product so I can use it more. ;) YOu look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty look. I use bronzer as eyeshadow all the time!
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing on you! I love it. I need to try this
ReplyDeleteI love using my blushes or bronzers for more than what they were attending. Makeup versatility.
ReplyDeleteI often use eye shadows as eyeliners, and also brow powders as eyeshadows and liners. And of course the classic lipstick as blush variation :)
ReplyDeleteI use my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette as eyeshadow for a very pretty lit from within natural look. I will also use lippies as a blush when I am in a pinch or have to condense my kit.
ReplyDeleteCool! I love using products different ways!
ReplyDeleteThe final outcome was very good :)
ReplyDeletePretty! I am always scared stuff like that isn't eye safe so I get all obsessive about reading ingredients haha
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've done this before. Went on a trip last minute and forgot my eye stuff, but had like 4 blush palettes lol
ReplyDeleteI remember being told NEVER to use blush as an eyeshadow, which I blindly accepted when I was a kid, but seems silly now - they're all just pigments, and as long as the product is approved for use near the eye, go for it! I think the rationale then was that eyeshadows and blushes had different textures, but now you have matte or shimmer blushes, and matte or shimmer shadows. I also (gasp) use my lipstick on my cheeks for a quick blush sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI use bronzer and blush (mauve shade) as eyeshadows once in a while.
ReplyDeleteIf I pop a little of my blush color on the brow bone, it really ties the look together. Sometimes I like a little bronzer in the crease.
ReplyDeleteThis look so pretty on you! Certain pinks make me look like I'm sick, but I'd definitely try it with a bronzer. I've used cheek highlighters before on my eyes but for some reason I don't think I've ever gone for a blush lol
ReplyDeleteI love this palette! I want to steal it from you : )
ReplyDeletep.s- your video is so cute : )
ReplyDeleteI'm guilty of using blush as eyeshadow all the time. I know you need to be careful because not all of them are safe for use on the eyes but i figure until I burn my eyeball I'll keep doing it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgons look on you!
