Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette + Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur | Swatches + Review

// Products sent for review.

Happy Friday, cutie pies! Ah, it's a good day to have some Makeup Revolution products on the blog, right? If you haven't heard of the brand before, they're basically one of the best kept secrets as their products are moderately priced but have the quality of some of the most top label brands. They're also known for having some killer dupes to some popular products.

Today, I have two products to share with you - the Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette and the Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur. Let's check them out!

  • Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette ($10)- Hello stunner! I had one of those moments when I opened this like, "Sweet Lord. This is beautiful." I kind of assumed that this palette would be filled with different shades of rose golds or complimentary colors so color me surprised to find a mix of beautiful metals and mattes. I feel like this palette will work for all skintones but naturally some shades will work on some tones better than others. The two mattes on the right side are perfect for pale skintones (I use the one on the bottom as a bronzer) but they probably wouldn't even show up on a deeper skintone. The third on the bottom from the left is absolutely jaw-dropping for medium/deep skintones but might be too harsh for anyone lighter. Of course, any shades that might not work as a highlighter or blush for your skintone could definitely be used as an eyeshadow so I wouldn't file this under a loss at all. My favorite shades are the bottom right matte shade (as a bronzer) and the bottom left highlighter (leaves my skin looking dewy rather than super blingy). I have to note that all shades were slightly dry to the touch but didn't feel that way once applied. Kind of weird.
  • Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur ($5) - Chauffeur is a gorgeous dusty mauve nude shade with a smooth, creamy, satin finish. I was surprised by how pigmented it was and how comfortable it was to wear throughout the day. I'm so eager to try out the rest of the bunch from the collection now.

Overall: First off, how gorgeous is that blush palette? I feel like it's a palette that'll have something for every skin tone but some shades will work better for others. Each shade feel slightly dry to the touch but did not apply in that way and actually applied rather smoothly and beautifully. Each highlighter shade was pigmented but not sparkly in anyway and left a rather dewy finish. As for the lipstick, I absolutely love Chauffeur and was surprised by how pigmented and creamy it was. I want to try all the lipsticks from that collection now!

GLOSSYBOX | July 2016 Box

// Press sample.

Happy Thursday, babes! Today I'm sharing the GLOSSYBOX July 2016 Box so if you haven't opened your's yet - first off, what are you waiting for?! - but secondly, don't click the "read more..." link just yet until you're ready to see what's in the box!

The deets on GLOSSYBOX - It's a monthly beauty subscription service where you will receive five deluxe-sized products sent straight to your front door, for $21 a month, $121 for six months or $222 for a year. Ending July 31st, use the code POPPIN for a makeup cosmetic bag in your box!

What's in the box?

  • NUXE Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse ($45) - Oooh, I've heard of this before so I'm happy to see this in this month's box. It's an all-in-one beauty elixir that you can use in your hair, mixed with your foundation or even just rub on your bod for a little glow. I haven't tried this yet but you bet I'll be tucking this in my travel bag to try on vacation.
  • Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist ($16) - What the what!? If this actually works, I swear, I'll be buying backups! Spray this baby on your nails after they've been painted and it's supposed to dry them down fast and leave them smudge-free for days.
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua ($21) - I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the first product my eyes went to. I've been DYING to try this shade!
  • Fango Essenziali Moisture Treatment Sheet Mask ($7) - Gimme all the moisture! This mask brings the moisture with a soothing mix of avocado, kelp and acai berry.
  • EYEKO Fat Stick in Satin ($12) - I'm a big fan of EYEKO but haven't tried this product so I can't wait to put it to the test. What's cool about this is that it plays on the hot trend of "glossy eyes" and leaves behind a "metallic-y, smudgy iridescence on the eye". Interesting!
  • GLOV Quick Treat ($5) - Another product that'll be coming with me on vacation! I haven't opened it yet but according to the little pamphlet that came with the box, you wet this, fit it around your finger, remove makeup and rinse with soap and water and you can reuse. That sounds killer!

What do you think about this box? Do you currently have any beauty subscription boxes?

Freshly Picked x Stance Wolf Pack Moccasins

* Products sent for consideration/review.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I'm so excited to finally be able to share this upcoming release as it's from one of my favorite baby brands ever and I know you guys are going to be super excited as well.

Freshly Picked x Stance Socks Collection is coming out TOMORROW, July 28th at 10AM MST - and they are SO adorable! NOTE: While there will be moccasins available for immediate shipment, they will be limited. Once out, everything will be special order only (usually ships in 4-6 weeks). And guys, Stance even has matching socks to the moccasins. My wallet is going to hate me. How can I deny moccasins and matching socks!? I can't, guys, I can't.

I've been sharing a few sneak peek pictures on Instagram (let's be friends!) but I thought I'd give you a better look at the moccasins I chose. My son is obsessed with wolves so it was only natural I chose the Wolf Pack moccasins to try out.

The Wolf Pack moccasins ($60) are a two-toned green leather moccasin; a darker green under the geometric wolf head with a lighter green sole and trim with fringe. Unfortunately, these don't have fringe in the front like most Freshly Picked moccasins do but to be honest, I'm totally diggin' it.

As with all Freshly Picked moccasins, they have an elastic band around the ankle so they're easy to put on and keep on your little babes feet. If you're looking for a starter shoe for your newly mobile babe, podiatrists highly recommend moccasins as they allow your child to move and flex their foot as naturally as possible, making walking easier.

Which pair will you be snagging? Make sure to enter the Freshly Picked giveaway going on over here, just for my readers! It ends 7/29. Good luck! x

Baby | A Few Things I Wish I Had With Baby #1

\\ Sent to me for review.

I can't believe in the two years since I've had Hunter, they've come out with even newer, cooler, and smarter things for babies and moms to use. Just when I thought I was on top of the game, bam! they come out with something even more awesome.

Today, I've compiled a few things I wish I knew about two years ago - one that's a great alternative to its more expensive counterpart, one that totally blows me away for safety reasons and one that's a great way to share memories!

  • Milestone Baby Pregnancy and Newborn Cards ($24) - How precious are these? I wish I had known about these two years ago because while I did document my baby bump weekly, it was such a pain in the butt to photoshop the dates and weeks on every picture. I chose the Pregnancy and Newborn Card set that comes with 30 different cards to document everything from the first positive test to the baby's first outfit. They do skip around on the weeks so there's a card for eight weeks, 12 weeks, etc. (basically once a month) and then there's an empty card to fill in a week you choose. Another really cool note about these cards is that when you go to purchase, you can choose from over ten different languages. They also sell milestone cards for toddler firsts, twins, baby photo cards and activity cards.
  • Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock in Triangles ($49.95)  - So when Hunter was born, I rarely ventured out to go shopping in the beginning. Not only did I go full-on hermit because I had no clue what I was doing as a parent (and also was a huge germaphobe) but I was always worried about say, going grocery shopping - where would I put him? I knew it's a huge safety no-no to put your infant car seat in the front part of a shopping cart. There's no way to buckle it in nor does it even fit. It's not made to hold an infant car seat and is extremely dangerous. At any time, someone can bump into the car seat or the baby could wiggle in the car seat and it could topple off. I shutter at the mere thought! Anywho, the lovely (and super smart) people at Binxy Baby came up with a really cool idea for your little one that is super safe, cute and still allows you to fill up your cart! All you do is take the hammock out (it's small enough to keep in your diaper bag), clip it on the sides of the cart, tuck your little babe into the hammock and clip them in. Apparently, you can clip your infant car seat into the hammock as well but I haven't tried it yet as little man isn't here (a month and counting!). *The hammock meets/exceeds all safety inspections, can be used from birth up to 50lbs. and for use on standard carts (think Target!) 20-24 inches wide.

  • Finn + Emma Muslin Swaddle in Grey ($14) - I absolutely LOVE muslin blankets! They are so, so handy for more than just being used as a blanket. You can use them for a breathable cover over your car seat, as a breastfeeding cover, a blanket to lay down to change your baby - I mean, the list goes on and on. Another reason I absolutely love muslin blankets is that the more you wash them, the softer they get. They never seem to lose their quality through the washes as well. The Finn + Emma swaddles are 100% G.O.T.S. certified organic cotton with no toxins and only eco-friendly dyes. This swaddle is a great alternative to the more expensive swaddles out there with the same luxurious feel but with a cheaper price tag!
What are your baby must-haves? Do you wish that you knew or had a certain product your first time around? If so, what was it?

#essenceEssentials | A Quick + Easy Back-To-School Look + MegahaulContest!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #essenceEssentials #essenceatTarget #CollectiveBias

Hey guys! I cannot believe I'm talking about back-to-school makeup looks already but the summer is almost halfway over!

Today I'll be sharing with you my first back-to-school tutorial and I'm really excited to share this one in particular as it could also work as an all natural/quick-and-easy/super affordable look - and we all love that!

Most of the products in this tutorial will be essence cosmetics from Target (basically my home-away-from-home!) which is so great for those that are looking for high quality products but at a lesser price (all my products cost less than $15!). I also want to note that essence cosmetics does not test on animals and that about 95% of their products come from Europe so they follow their FDA guidelines, not the USA's. That makes most of these products perfect for my cruelty-free babes as well!

PS. Stay tuned until the end of the tutorial for more information about #essenceatTarget's Back-To-School Megahaul Sweepstakes! You don't want to miss it!

Without further ado, let's get onto the makeup tutorial:
  • For this look, I started off with a quick swipe of a skin-toned base color/primer on my lid. This is going to keep my shadows from creasing and fading away while I run around to classes at school.
  • Next, I'm went into my essence All About Nudes Eyeshadow Palette ($5.49) and with a fluffy crease brush, I took the second to the left brown shade (unfortunately, there's no name!) and popping that into my crease.
  • Going back into that same palette, I applied the first top left shade (a pretty white) with my finger all over the lid.
  • Next, I'm went in with the third from the bottom left shade (a greige) and applied that into my outer v, to deepen the look. I applied this to my bottom lash line as well.
  • Almost done! I took the darkest brown shade from the top and applied it on my top lash line to create a smudged eyeliner effect. I like using this technique as it doesn't require perfection at 6:30 in the morning to apply but still looks good.
  • Lastly, I patted the pearly white shade into the inner corner to brighten my eyes. I also applied this on my brow bone.
  • I finished my eye look with a coat of essence Lash Princess False Lash Mascara ($4.99).
  • For my brows, I took the essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara ($2.99) and swiped through my eyebrows for a natural look. This reminds me of another certain brow gel product I used to be obsessed with and would almost say it's even a cheap dupe for it!
  • Onto the face, I applied my favorite light coverage face balm. I prefer something with a balm consistency as it seems to outlast my makeup running around all day without budging! I remember in highschool, my first period class was basically in the basement and then my second period class was on the fourth floor - and I had about five minutes to make it there. Talk about breaking a sweat every day!
  • I then applied my favorite concealer to any spots that needed a little extra coverage + under my eyes and set it with my favorite setting powder.
  • Next, I applied with my bronzer brush the "contour" side from the essence Contour Powder in Light ($3.99). It seemed a little warm to contour with so I used it as a bronzer and really loved the results.
  • Going in with my blush brush, I took the essence Blush Up! Powder Blush ($3.99) in patted it onto my cheeks. I love patting it on rather than swiping it for a more natural flush look.
  • Going back to the essence Contour Powder ($3.99) compact, I took my highlighting brush, sprayed it with a setting spray, swiped it into the highlight portion of the compact and applied to my cheekbones, cupid's bow, etc. Basically anywhere you want to brighten!
  • Lastly, I really wanted a simple lip so I used the essence Longlasting Lipstick in Nude Love ($2.99) and patted that onto my lips.

#FOTD | Olive You So Much!

Well, well, well. It has been a little while since my face has been on my own blog, huh? As I'm rounding out 36 weeks this Saturday (what what!?), I've been SO exhausted, putting on a full face as been the least of my thoughts. My apologies, ya'll!

That being said, I decided to sit down while Hunter's taking an early nap and try out a whole bunch of products that have been sent to me/that I bought/basically a mix of everything. I also have separate reviews of all the products reviews coming soon but until then...

  • FACE: So first off, I started with Mojo Spa's Illuminata Illuminating Herbal Makeup which can be used as a primer, moisturizer and luminizer. I applied this all over my face with my hands as a primer and have been really loving the results. It gives an almost "glowing from within" type of look before I even put foundation on! Next up, I applied Urban Decay's One & Done Skin Perfector (in Light). Mama needs concealer so I applied It Cosmetics CC+ Concealer in Light but I'm almost done with it. Any recommendations for a new concealer? Lastly, I set that with Laura Mercier Brightening Powder.
  • BLUSH / BRONZER / HIGHLIGHTER: Blush, bronzer and highlighter are courtesy of Makeup Revolution's Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette (what a name!). At first glance, this palette doesn't really seem like it would suit lighter complexions but color me surprised! I also want to note that the highlighters in this palette give off a more dewy look then spotlight/glittery/whatever. I love it!
  • BROWS: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Brown
  • EYES: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as a base and then Makeup Geek Confection to set the base. Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie in the crease and then Makeup Geek Dirty Martini (I'm OBSESSED with this olive shade!) all over the lid. Lastly, Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma in the inner corner, tarte Tarteist Lash Paint liner for the cat eye and House of Lashes falsies in Iconic. I'm likin' the lashes but I'm not sure it's love yet. I bought these in one of their sales, had to chop off almost half the lash to fit my eye and then I'm not sure I'm feelin' the thick band. That being said, the lash itself is SO stunning and definitely finishes any look. I think I'm going to have to just play with this one.
I also changed my lighting set up and bought two new soft boxes for a more consistent look. What do you guys think? I'm still playing with the settings but so far, I'm liking the change!

* Some products in this post were sent for consideration as well as some products were bought by me.

What's In My Z-Palette?

Hey guys! So quite a few weeks ago, Beauty Bay had this absolutely insane sale where it was buy one Makeup Geek product, get one free. I'll give you a minute to soak that in. Naturally, I (as well as thousands of others) were allllllll over that. Cue mass makeup-induced pandemonium but long story short, your babe got her shadows!

Beauty Baby is located in the UK (and I'm in the US) so I was worried about how long shipping would take, the lack of a tracking number (very norm for overseas for your tracking number to work there but as soon as it gets to the US, it's untrackable). Beauty Bay was so, SO kind on updating me where my package was and overall, it took about two weeks to get here. All in all, not too bad.

I also ordered my Z-Palette separately (although Beauty Bay does sell them) because I was in such a rush to get my MUG order in that I forgot to order a palette. #totalfail I ended up ordering off of the Makeup Geek site and got the large Z-Palette because the Z-Palette site itself said it holds 28 MUG-sized pans but the MUG site said it's only 27. Whomp, whomp.

As you can see from the pictures below, the palette doesn't allow you to fit the seven pans evenly on the bottom row. It's a little disappointing because I ordered 28 pans thinking they'd all fit. Also, it's just odd? But makeup probz, huh?

The Z-Palette itself is great quality even though it's just a sturdy cardboard with a clear panel on the top lid so you can see through it. As of right now, I don't see this being super travel-friendly because I'm pretty sure the pans would go everywhere if your bag is dropped. I'm traveling in a few weeks and will report back on that one.

If you're unfamiliar Makeup Geek shadows, each one is talc-free, cruelty-free and paraben-free. Each pan is $6 (for normal shades, $8 for duochromes, $10 for foiled) and are .0064 oz. From top left to right:

  • Rockstar - a medium silver base duochrome with pink-purple reflects.
  • Concrete Jungle - a matte deep grey with subtle purple undertones
  • Galaxy - a metallic gunmetal.
  • Shimma Shimma - a metallic champagne.
  • Vanilla Bean - a peachy beige with light shimmer.
  • Confection - a slightly mauve-y pink matte.
  • Phantom - a white based duochrome with violet purple reflects.
  • High Wire - a medium silver with subtle blue undertones foil.
  • Curfew - a matte medium plum purple.
  • Houdini - a deep emerald teal green foil.
  • Time Travel - a matte deep teal with grey undertones.
  • Bedrock - a medium grey matte with brown undertones.
  • Whimsical - a light silvery pink foil.
  • Bleached Blonde - a shimmery pale gold.
  • Boo Berry - a denim blue matte with grey undertones.
  • Shore Thing - a matte pastel mint.
  • Sea Mist - a shimmery turquoise.
  • Cherry Cola - a deep brown matte with strong red undertones.
  • Cupcake - a matte medium pink.
  • Starry Eyed - a light champagne beige foil with pink undertones.
  • Morocco - a rich, burnt orange matte.
  • Dirty Martini - a matte olive green.
  • Fuji - a bright apple green matte.
  • Typhoon - a deep teal base with green and gold reflects.
  • Steampunk - a black base with rich copper reflects.
  • Americano - a dark brown matte with subtle purple undertones.
  • Peach Smoothie - a light peach beige matte.
As you guys can tell, I love a good mix of neutrals and fun colors. My absolute faves that you need in your life are: Shimma Shimma, Confection, Bedrock, Whimsical, Starry Eyed, Dirty Martini and Americano! Which ones are your absolute must-haves?

Indigo Beaux | July 2016 "Be Bold" Box

Good morning everyone! It must be subscription box week here on XO, Noelle because I have yet another to share with you and this one has a great message behind - and shares its proceeds with a charity!

Indigo Beaux is a monthly subscription box delivered to your door filled with high quality products selected to unlock your inner radiance. 2% of Indigo Beaux's income goes to RAINN - a network that operates the National Sexual Assault hotline and the DoD Safe Helpline. They also administer services to survivors as well as educate the nation about sexual violence.

What's in the box?

  • Its Skin Formula 10 Serum Syn-ake ($23) - The name alone had me so intrigued. Apparently, the peptides in this serum are very similar to snake venom (what what?!) and in turn, firm and improve skin on any skin type. This is to be used after your toner but before your normal skin care routine. I have yet to try this but can't wait and will definitely report back on how it works.
  • Gold Label Lipstick in Private Jet ($14) - I've never heard of Gold Label but I'll definitely be checking out more from them as this lipstick is so gorgeous and creamy. The shade Private Jet is a very pretty pink and goes onto the lips smooth.
  • ABHA Candle in Forever Blossom ($16) - Ahh, this candle smells amazing! It's peony-scented (one of my faves!) and is scented with essential oils. Unfortunately, mine kind of melted in the box so the little paper filler stuck all in it but I still can't wait to light it (just, y'know, after I clean them all out).
  • Beekman 1802 Hand Cream in Fresh Cream ($22) - The packaging alone on this is so, so gorgeous. It comes in this stunning little box with a metal lid that you pull over to the side to open. I love stuff like that! Anyway, the hand cream is filled with botanical-based ingredients like shea butter (to protect, moisturize and soothe your skin), pure goat milk (rich in vitamins and gentle on your skin) and is sulfate and paraben-free.
  • Indigo Beaux Rose Lavender & Chamomile Herbal Pillow ($30) - Oh my goodness. Seeing this pillow in the box brought back so many memories from when I was younger. My mom used to let us use one of these when we had back aches, tummy aches, etc. This one has rose, lavender and chamomile which is perfect for when you're trying to relax. If you use this warm, you can pop it into the microwave for about 45 seconds (depends how hot you want it) or you can use it cold as well.
Shop Buy ($65.99 per month, $377.94 for six months or $725.89 for a year)

#MajorBeauty | Back-To-College Survival Kit (Skincare Edition) + Giveaway!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.
#MajorBeauty #MajorSteals #CollectiveBias

I know, I know. We are smack dab in the middle of a hot, hot summer and knee deep in drinks by the pool and tan lines - how dare I even mention heading back to school? Let's be real: school (much to some people's dismay and to other's happiness) is just a few short months away!

Whether you're parting ways with friends who might be going to different colleges or heading back to school yourself, there's nothing better than putting together a little somethin' somethin' to let them know you care (or treating yourself to some goodies without breaking the budget)!

In this post, I'll be showing you how to create a Back-To-College Survival Kit with a fun twist with my favorite Neutrogena and Clean & Clear skin care products - all of which you can find at the convenience of your local Target! Target is the spot for the best deals on skincare and cosmetics. Right now, you can buy one participating Neutrogena facial, cosmetic or Clean & Clear facial product and get one 25% off. Ends 8/31.

What you will need:

- your favorite beauty or skincare products or products you think your friend will like. I chose:
  • Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser - This cleanser gets down to the nitty gritty and cleanses the pores of dirt, leftover makeup, etc. without drying out the skin. A cream cleanser is always nice to use to add a little moisture to the skin.
  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Pink Grapefruit Acne Moisturizer - This is more than just your average moisturizer! It contains .5% salicylic acid to clear any breakouts but also moisturizes, evens out any redness and blurs an acne marks.
  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover - Oil-free is the way to be! This removes even the toughest and most waterproof eye makeup. Unfortunately, it doesn't remove those late night study seshs.
  • Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser - When five different alarms just won't cut it, this citrus-scented cleanser will get you movin'! This cleanser contains vitamin-enriched Bursting Beads to smooth and nourish your skin.
  • Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes - Whether you're sweatin' from the gym or a final, these wipes are fab to have on-the-go! Tuck these pre-moistened wipes in your backpack to quickly freshen up wherever you are!
  • Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All-In-One Cleansing Wipes - While there's a few options for cleansers in this kit, I love using a cleansing wipe when you get home late and just don't have the time to go through a cleansing routine. These are pre-moistened and remove all traces of dirt and makeup.
- a cute but useable container to put everything in (other options: a shower caddy, a makeup bag, etc.)
- tissue paper or shredded paper
- some fun motivational quotes to cut out and tape onto the basket!
- optional: candy (I mean, hello!?), gift cards to their favorite coffee shop or local Target, socks, flip flops and pictures!

Let's get started!

  • Stuff the bottom of the container with shredded paper.
  • Tuck in all the products into the container.
  • Cut out your motivational quotes! The one I used is actually my blog's motto and tied in so perfectly with this DIY kit but you can search for some great ones online. I then used a pretty font on Photoshop to write out "College Survival Kit" and printed it out to tape on the container.
  • Enjoy for yourself or give to a friend that's heading off to college!
What would you want in your own "College Survival Kit"?

* Don't forget: From now until the end of August, you can buy one participating Neutrogena facial, cosmetic or Clean & Clear facial product and get one 25% off at your local Target!

Enter for a chance to win 1 of 30 $50 gift cards to Target!
