I'm going to level with you guys. When the school year first begins, I'm alllllll about the fun lunches and by about a month in, I start to lack inspiration! And let's also be real: my kids (and I think most others, as well) have their favorite foods and normally accept small variations from that!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL: LUNCH IDEAS

Lunch has always been my hardest meal to come up with for the kids! This year, I'm keeping it simple with their faves and adding little twists to it.
  • peanut butter + strawberry jam sandwich - Such a classic (and yummy!) main star to lunch. I added a twist to it by cutting it up, popping it on dull skewers and popping a blueberry in between for a kebob effect. Peanut butter not allowed at school? Try switch out for turkey and cheese!
  • berry medley - I'm very thankful my kids are obsessed with fruit! Give them alllll the berries. This medley is filled with blackberries and blueberries.
  • cheese stars - My kids are an American cheese kind of group but you can spice it up with different types such as Havarti (mmmm...), Swiss, Cheddar, etc.
  • yogurt w/ star sprinkles - The kids have been obsessed with yogurt ever since they were babies! Lately, they've been loving blended Greek yogurt from Target! Sprinkles some, er, sprinkles on top and wah-la: instant fancy pants yogurt!
I feel like this a good base lunch to work with throughout the week! The kebobs can be switched out for meat and cheese, pita instead of bread, etc. Fruits are great but switch out for veggies some days. I know both cheese and yogurt is a lot of dairy so feel free to sub for crackers or pretzels!

Wishing you and your littles an amazing school year!
