8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 6: Spiders

Hi everyone! Popping in really quick to post the sixth day of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge (Spiders - eek!) before we get hit by Hurricane Sandy. Clearly, my priorities are in check! ;) It's already getting super windy here and we live in a super wooded area so I'm assuming our power will be out by tomorrow. Wahhh. Hoping everyone is careful and safe where ever they are! xx

For the spider challenge, I decided the less creepy, the better. I wouldn't say I'm afraid of spiders but you also won't find me petting one and keeping it as a pet (as my boyfriend's mother would). I used a Funky Fingers Riot as the base, a Migi pen in white for the cobwebs and a black one for the spider.

PS. I know everyone's rushing around for the storm and keeping safe, but if you do have time, tonight is the LAST NIGHT to vote for OPI's Candy Mani Contest! I'm 8th place so far which I'm totally stoked about. You can vote for me here! Thank you so, so much! I really appreciate it.

As always, make sure to check out these ladies and their creepy nails:

8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 5: Witches

Things are getting scary around here, guys! It's witch nails for day five of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge! Unfortunately, both my cameras had died so I took this picture with my iPhone. Not to shabby if I do say so myself.

PS. I know I've been pimpin' the heck out of this, but could everyone pretty PLEASE with sugar on top check out my chocolate bar nails here at OPI's Candy Manis contest and vote if you like them? I would love you for forever and a day. Also, the page is through OfferPop. It is NOT spam. It's a site OPI is using for the voting. Lastly, you can vote once every day!

For my witch nails, I decided to practice my freehand skills. On my pointer is random stars (because when I think of witches I think of stars? I have no idea but it looks pretty) with Essie Chinchilly as the base and butterLONDON Cheeky Chops stars. On my middle finger is belt buckle witch's hat with an Essie Playdate base and Migi Pens in yellow and black for the buckle. On my ring finger is a witch's brew made from a random Sinful Colors green I had for the bubbles and a Migi pen in white, blue and red for the eyeball. Lastly, on my pinky in a witch's best friend: her black cat made from Migi pens in black, yellow and pink.

Sorry I only have one picture. It was a long night.

So what are everyone's plans for Halloween? My friends and I were supposed to get all zombie'd out and volunteer at a haunted house but Connecticut is supposed to be getting hit by a frankenstorm! Stay safe to everyone who might be getting hit by this monster and I'll live precariously through everyone who isn't :)

8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 4: Ghosts!

Hi lovebugs! Today is day four of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge which means *drum roll please*... GHOSTS! I decided to make my ghosts a little silly because quite frankly, ghosts and spirits give me the eebie jeebies!

I started out using China Glaze Seaspray at the base, a white striper for the ghosts, a black Migi pen for the eyes and mouth and the pink bow is OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips!

I hope you guys like them! So, do you believe in ghosts? Ever have something totally unexplainable happen to you?

As always, check out these ladies boo-tiful ghost nails:

8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 3: Candy!

Howdy everyone! Today is day three - candy! - of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge! My favorite candy for Halloween is candy corn. Close runner ups include Snickers, Twix, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Crunch bars and Blowpops. Ahem. I'm not picky!

I decided to go with candy corn for my candy nails! I used China Glaze Stone Cold as the base (a la Creepy Eyeball Tutorial) and used Circus by Andrea's Choice Reverso (what else?) to draw small little triangles. When the triangles were dry, I went back and used butterLONDON Cheeky Chops for the yellow and the orange Migi Nail Art pen.

As always, make sure to check out their candy nails too!

8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 2: Vampires!

Hi dolls! Today is day two of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Vampires! Okay. I think I started out the gate a little rough with yesterday's skull nails but today I think I'm back on my feet. I LOVE this one!

I may have gone a little picture crazy with this mani. I couldn't get enough of this! I love the fangs (granted my vampires may need some dental work) and the puncture holes from the bite! I used MissJenFabulous' Vampire Fangs Nail Tutorial and I also used a tutorial on YouTube for the puncture holes but naturally I can't find it now! :(

Grab some garlic, pull up your collar and check out these gorgeous gal's vampire nails:

8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - Day 1: Skulls

Hi everyone! Today starts day one of the 8 Spooky Nights Nail Art Challenge - WOOHOO! Day one is skulls which to me automatically meant sugar skulls. I'm obsessed with sugar skulls and Day of the Dead so this was a no-brainer.

PS: If you don't have a blog, you can join in too! Non-bloggers can submit in a contest and win a prize at the end! I'm not going to say what it is... it will be a surprise for now. But I will tell you it is an AMAZING indie Halloween polish. Need I say more?

Here are the rules:
  • You must be a non-blogger to compete for the contest prize.
  • All nail art must be on your nails. No falsies. Only new work please.
  • Stamping is allowed. No stickers or nail decals. Acrylic paint is allowed, but nail polish must be    used in some aspect of the design.
  • In order to compete for the Contest Prize, you must complete all 8 days and have them submitted via email to peacelovelacquer@gmail.com or on Peace Love Lacquer's Facebook wall before midnight Pacific time the day of the challenge.
  • Day 8 (Only Black & Orange) will be the nail art that is voted upon.
  • All qualifying participants Day 8 photo will be placed in a folder on November 1st and voting will be most likes. Voting will close at 6pm Pacific on Monday November 5th. The official winnder will be announced the morning of November 6th.
  • Must be 18 years old and live within the US or have a US address in order to qualify for prize.

Now let's check out my sugar skull nails! I'll be honest, I'm a little disappointed with my art. I just couldn't get it right. Everything was going well until I tried to draw the little teeth, as you can see. After all of this, I ended up ordering nail art brushes so hopefully that'll help. I used Circus by Andrea's Choice Reverso as the white base and using a dotting tool dotted various colors around the eyes. I also used the dotting tool for the nose (an upside down heart).

Review: OASAP Puncture Ring & Skeleton Earrings

Howdy all! Tonight I have a few pieces of jewelry that OASAP was kind enough to let me pick out and send to me. I love, love, LOVE both of these! Let's check 'em out.

    Puncture Ring - Buy
I first saw this ring at Brandy Melville and DIED. I love the illusion it gives. When I received it from OASAP, I was kinda like, "How the heck do you wear this?" It doesn't fit comfortably like a ring. Your pointer finger and ring finger hold it in place, if that makes sense. I still love this ring but it's definitely not something you could wear and run around.

    Skull Shaped Chain Tassel EarringsBuy
How sweet are these? I'm totally diggin' skulls right now and these are perfect! The skeleton hands have little cuffs behind them to cuff to your upper ear. They're totally flexible to open or close to fit your ear. I really loved the little flower ring the skeleton hands are wearing. Too cute!

How cute are those tiny little skulls?

Overall: I love OASAP's jewelry selection! Everything is trendy and well made. The only con I had about OASAP was that I had to wait a month for my things to get here. It isn't a big deal to me since I understand it's coming from Hong Kong to the US but I do know for you impatient fashionista's it might be a dealbreaker. Shipping is free worldwide.

What do you guys think? Would you wear the Puncture ring or the cuff earrings?

    I ♥ Fall Tag!

Fall is my most favorite season of them all so naturally I was very excited when Jess @ Love For Lacquer tagged me to do this! Basically, it's a list of beauty and non-beauty questions for fall. Simple, right? Let's do this thang!

    Favorite Fall Lip Product?
Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me
As much as I love all lipsticks and lipglosses, Maybelline Baby Lips is where it's at for the fall! Baby Lips keeps my lips ridiculously soft in this weird New England weather. I love Cherry Me in particular because of it's subtle red tint it gives your lips.

    Favorite Fall Nail Polish?
    Zoya Jem & Essie Moccachino
That's a cruel joke to think I could pick just one - I have two! Both are perfect dark fall colors.

    Favorite Fall Starbucks Drink?
So I'm not exactly playing by the rules here. As much as I love Starbucks, I wasn't really thrilled with the Pumpkin Spice latte this year. Maybe it's my tastebuds changing? I don't know. So my favorite fall drink was Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin White Chocolate iced coffee/latte (I've had it basically every way they've offered!). D&D knocked it out of the park this fall with this drink. It's amazing!

    Favorite Fall Candle?
I'm OBSESSED with this candle from Bath & Body Works! This smells exactly like Abercrombie & Fitch but not overpowering like the store is.

    Favorite Fall Scarf / Accessory?
My favorite fall accessory has been my 7 Chi Studded tote from Urban Outfitters. I love black and studs!

Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride or Haunted Corn Maze?
All of the above! I love scary-ing and being scared.

    Favorite Halloween Movie?
Hocus Pocus will forever and always been my favorite Halloween movie.

Favorite Candy To Eat On Halloween?
I love Crunch bars, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kats, Candy Corn and Hershey's.

What Are You Dressing Up As On Halloween?
I honestly have no idea. It's a toss up between a zombie, Pochahontas and Minnie Mouse.

What Is Your Favorite Thing About Fall?
I love the leaves falling, my friends coming home from college, haunted hayrides and houses, pumpkin picking, Halloween limited edition make up. costumes, scarves and boots, pumpkin and apple picking.

I'm tagging EVERYONE who hasn't done this yet. This is so much fun! For those who don't have blogs, leave your favorites in the comments!
