* Recipe is from Happy Hooligans. We're just sharing the love!

Who has a snow day today!? The snow just stopped coming down about an hour ago which is perfect timing as I've had this recipe by Happy Hooligans pinned for SO darn long and decided to give it a try! We've tried the make-ice-cream-from-snow-thing before but there's a special ingredient in this that totally knocks it out of the park. Like, I'd choose this over Breyers, that's how good it is!

First things first, you're going to need snow. About three cups worth, give or take how much ice cream you want to make. This whole recipe is super adaptable! Obviously, the fresher the snow, the better (and less dirty) but let's be real. As long as the snow has been scooped within the first day and isn't in your dog's area outside, I think you'll be fine.

Next step is to add the vanilla and condensed milk. I used just a splash of vanilla and about 1/2 the can of condensed milk and it was just perfect. Mix these guys all together and you're set.

The key ingredient is the condensed milk. It seriously makes this snow ice cream on a whole other level, guys. Think french vanilla ice cream. Super rich, smooth - so yummy!

Oh! I wanted to note that adding the condensed milk doesn't make the snow runny or watery. In fact, it kind of has a weird opposite effect and kind of freezes and solidifies it more.

Things will probably get messy with your three year old mixing everything in!

I think it's safe to say the boys loved it! It was super easy to make and I pretty much had all the ingredients in my pantry already. You can definitely freeze this for later but be aware that it'll freeze into a block of ice basically. Pop it into the microwave for about 15 seconds to make it scoopable again!

The Best Snow Ice Cream EVER!

You will need:
  • 3 cups of snow (not packed down)
  • 1/2 can of condensed milk
  • 1-2 tsp of vanilla
Mix all three ingredients together. Enjoy! (Super easy, right?)
