Things are getting spooky over here as we ended last week with a fun book nook/shelf makeover - Halloween style! Almost all of the fun, colorful decor on the shelves is from this year's Target's Bullseye's Playground. It's so cute!

A FEW MORE SPOOKY BOOKS TO ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY

Last year, I compiled the most epic Ultimate List of Halloween Books for Kids (make sure to check it out!) but I found a few more spooky tales below to add to your collection below!

  1. Peanut Butter and Brains: A Zombie Culinary Tale by Joe McGee
  2. The Bad Seed Presents: The Good, The Bad, and The Spooky by Jory John
  3. The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt by Riel Nason
  4. Pig The Monster by Aaron Blabey
  5. Monster Trouble by Lane Fredrickson
  6. Ghost Afraid of the Dark by Sara Conway
  7. Hardly Haunted by Jessie Sima
  8. Frankenslime by Joy Keller
  9. A World Full of Spooky Stories: 50 Tales to Make Your Spine Tingle by Angela McAllister
  10. A Tiger Called Tomas by Charlotte Zolotow
  11. Does Frankenstein Get Hungry? by John Solimine
  12. Bones: An Inside Look at the Animal Kingdom by Jules Howard

SHELF DECOR

  • Colorful Pumpkins ($12) - This is for a seven pack, including four small ones and three large ones. The ones on our shelves are the minis and came in a four pack, in store for $5.
  • Raven ($12) - I can only find a four pack on line but if you can find it in stores, he's only $3!
  • Small Potion Bottle ($10) - This is for a ten pack, but if you can find them in stores, they're only $1 each and super cute.
  • Frankstein Head ($5) - Frankie is styrofoam and comes white. I ended up just using two paints I already had and went to town. It takes an hour to fully dry and needs a few coats!
  • Eyeball Pom Pom Garland ($3) - Found in Target's Bullseye's Playground but not available online. I think this is one of the cutest garlands and for only $3? A total steal.
  • Rainbow Pastel Tassel Garland ($3) - Found in Target's Bullseye's Playground but not available online.
  • Pink Measuring Flask ($3) - Found in Target's Bullseye's Playground but not available online.
  • Felt Hanging Bats ($10) - These come in a three pack but I only used two for the shelves. Super cute, with a loop on the top for easy hanging.
  • Mosslanda Picture Ledge ($14.99) - These are the shelves we used for the books! They're actually picture ledges from IKEA. Great quality and easy to install. These are the longer shelves, at 45 1/4 inches long but they do have a smaller size available as well.
