OCC Lip Tar All Star Mini x 4 Set - Swatches & Review

Hi beautiful! So I had this review all planned out for Wednesday but then my camera died. Whomp, whomp, whomp. So today I have a review for you on my other purchase from Sephora: the OCC Lip Tar All Star Mini x 4 Set, a holiday exclusive to Sephora!

The set comes in this really cute (and handy) plastic pouch! Perfect for on-the-go!

The OCC Lip Tar All Star Mini x 4 Set comes with four mini lip tars of their most popular shades - Memento, NSFW, Anime and Black Dahlia - plus a short handler precision lip brush. It retails for $20 but has a value of $34. This is perfect for someone who's wanted to try Lip Tars but couldn't settle on which one (IE: me!). Besides being cruelty-free and vegan, they contain organic peppermint, hemp oils and vitamin E.

First up is Memento, a pink/plum neutral. This is definitely going to be my go-to nude lip from now on. As much as I love the pale nude lip, I think this is more flattering.

NSFW is a true, balanced red.
I would describe this as basically candy apple coating for your lips in the best way possible. It's just the perfect, most flattering red I've come across.

Anime is a vibrant neon pink.
Unfortunately, I had some bleeding with this but it didn't bother me. Honestly, I wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for macro. This is a HOT pink. My camera couldn't even catch how neon it really is.

Black Dahlia is a blackened red.
Again, there was some slight bleeding into the lines above my lips but wasn't noticeable in person. I absolutely loved this color. If this isn't "fall", I don't know what is. It's so gorgeous!

Overall, I LOVED these little guys and highly recommend buying this set if you have yet to try OCC Lip Tars or just can't settle on one. These are highly pigmented and a little (and I mean LITTLE) goes a long way. I used about half a pea sized amount and that was more enough. I loved the precision brush and recommend using it to apply Lip Tars with (I really don't see another way). After swatching these, I did read on the back that you should prep your lips with "Clear" Lip Tar (or a super thick clear lipgloss which I didn't have) for best application. I completely agree with that and think that would've ex-nayed the bleeding. You live and learn!

Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep - Review

Happy Tuesday, loves! Naturally, I had to do some shopping while in NYC last weekend. I mean, they had TWO Sephora's within a three block radius PLUS their VIB sale was going on. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.

At Sephora, I bought OCC's Lip Tar Mini's (review will be up tomorrow!) and Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium / Deep which I had heard some pretty awesome things about from some of the beauty bloggers at the Rite Aid event. I tried it over the past few days - let's check out what I think about it!

 Benefit Gimme Brow
Ugh. Benefit always suckers me in with their adorable packaging! They could probably sell me a rock as long as it had their cute box around it.

 Benefit Gimme Brow
Gimme Brow is a natural-looking brow volumizing brush-on fiber gel that adheres to both your skin and your eyebrows for fuller looking eyebrows. It comes in two buildable, waterproof shades: light/medium and medium/deep. I chose medium/deep because I have dark brown, almost black eyebrows.

To use: Stoke brush to tip along brow to define shape. Comb through to blend and build.

Benefit Gimme Brow
The formula itself is pretty pigmented. I only needed two swipes to get the natural look I was going for. I also experienced no crunchiness that sometimes accompanies gel formulas. Naturally, I had to touch my eyebrows afterward (doesn't everyone?) and once it dried, these babies didn't move nor smudge. Dry time was like, two minutes. I also really liked the  size of the spooly brush because it let me be as precise as I wanted to be and get into the corners of my eyebrow.

I love the results! This definitely fills my drawn in eyebrow void. I feel like your eyebrow shape done the right way can totally change your face. I would describe my eyebrows as thick but there are some spots that could be filled in to make them look fuller. You guys don't even want to know how many times I've tried (and failed) to draw my eyebrows in. Cue Benefit Gimme Brow! I'm so ecstatic over this product and highly recommend it!

Rite Aid Kick Off Weekend - Pictures

Hey lovebugs! So for those who don't know: I've been chosen as a Rite Aid Insider! I'll be working with Rite Aid being one of the voices to the beauty community to keep you informed of new products and promotions for the next year. I think it's safe to say I'm over the moon excited for this opportunity (I mean, I've posted it on every single social media platform I have). This weekend we were sent to New York City for the Rite Aid Kick Off Event and it was AH-MAZING! Naturally, I took a bajillion pictures...

We started off the weekend with Friday night cocktails and dinner with Rite Aid, MARC USA and all the bloggers. GUYS - I had my own name place with my blog name and everything! Ahhh, so exciting! On the right is the outfit I wore. All Charlotte Russe minus the Vera Wang shoes. Dinner was delicious and the company was great!

I was ready for bed but Anthony had other plans and dragged me out so he could get food. New York is nuts at night and every food place he wanted to go to had a huge line. It's such a crazy atmosphere. I, on the other hand, made friends with some of the locals ;) Seriously, the nicest/funniest policemen I EVER met! Thanks guys!

Saturday, we had meetings all day! I had no idea what to expect working with such a huge company like this. Rite Aid's mission is to improve the health and wellness of their customers but they don't stop at just carrying medicine and filling your prescription; they want to make the quality of your life better and empower you in managing yourself and your family's well-being. I was so overcome by how absolutely genuine they were about how much they truly care about their customers. I have such a positive outlook into this partnership and can't wait to start, guys!

Meanwhile, back the room, a swag bag was delivered, filled with goodies from Rite Aid. By the time I got it, Ant already dug into some of the stuff. Thank you MARC USA & Rite Aid!

In the afternoon, we got to see a newly renovated Rite Aid Wellness store and holy cow, guys, it was gorgeous!

Are you ready for this?! THIS is their beauty section! It's SO pretty and clean. My jaw literally dropped and I stood dazed for a while.

Rite Aid recently started adding more premium brands to their Wellness stores including Senna Cosmetics, Alison Raffaele Cosmetics, Beautyblender and Eddie Funkhouser

Does this not look like some upscale beauty store? Talk about being blown away!

Another thing that makes Rite Aid's Beauty Vision area unique is that they have their own  Beauty Vision Advisors. They're exclusive to Rite Aid Wellness stores and they can assist, educate and demonstrate to customers that come in and need help or have questions pertaining to beauty. How amazing is that? Our beauty advisor, Bonnielee was amazing and even has her own beauty blog, The Vegan Stylista!

Last but certainly not least, we can't forget their new nail bar filled with Essie, Julie G. and more!

And here we are! All the bloggers together! L-R: Me (duh!), Vanessa (The Bombshell Suite), Dusty (As Mom Sees It), Mandy (Life Songs of a Busy Mom), Aprill (Glitter Gloss Garbage), Kia (Killer Lipgloss) and Alison in the front (Being Alison).

 Getting ready for Pampano's!

Pampano's was SO good! I had Arugula salad with almonds, cranberries, mandarins and a delish dressing! I forgot to take a picture of my entree and our drinks that we had. One was a pumpkin margarita and another was a spiced cranberry mojito. Then we finished off with cappuccinos and chocolate flan. SO yummy!

Then it was time part ways so I had to take a billion pictures with everyone ;) I had such a blast and great time meeting everyone. Thank you again to MARC USA & Rite Aid for putting this together. I can't wait to see what the next year holds in store!

Mandy, Dusty, Vanessa & me!

Kia & I | Julie from MARC USA, myself & Heather from MARC USA | Myself with Craig from Rite Aid
Karin from Rite Aid & Myself | Myself & Dempsey from MARC USA

The infamous robe from Westin! This robe was SOOOOOO comfy!

Sunday before we left to head home, I met Morgan Freeman (kidding, kidding - it's wax!) and walked around the city.

Before we left, we HAD to stop at Crumbs Bakery! I got a Nutella cupcake. TO DIE FOR!

So that was my New York trip! I had such a blast and can't wait for what's in store working with Rite Aid in the upcoming year. What's your favorite place in New York to visit? PS. Of course I shopped in NY at Rite Aid & Sephora and will have reviews on the products I bought up soon! :)

Fall Lust List

Illamasqua Unnatural & Swarm - Two awesome colors for fall! Unnatural is a deep oxblood while Swarm is a black glitter top coat. Milani Black Cherry - A blackened berry red lipstick that I'm totally wanting. It's a supposed MAC Talk That Talk dupe. Forever 21 Remixed Plaid Scarf - I don't know why but I always associate flannel with cold weather. This scarf is too cute and comes in two other colors! Typo Unicorn Bag - I don't even think I need to explain myself and why I absolutely need this makeup bag in my life. B&BW Leaves Candle - Nothing like some leaf-smelling candle to really get you in the fall mood. Kidding. It doesn't smell like leaves. It's actually supposed to smell like apples, nectar and berries. Forever 21 Oversized Fair Isle Sweater - Love this print and the fact that it's oversized. I can definitely see myself getting cozy by the fire wearing this. Steve Madden ASAP Boots - Bethany Mota (MacBarbie07) made me want these. Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation - Casey Holmes made me want this. Haha. Then I tried it in Sephora and fell in love. Just a really nice full-coverage foundation that doesn't really feel like it's caked on. B&BW Sweater Weather Candle - I don't know what this smells like but I love the name of it! LORAC Pro Palette - I think I'm the only beauty blogger that doesn't own this. This will be mine by the end of the year!

So what's on your fall lust list? Let me know!

Influenster Rose VoxBox - Review

Hi dolls! On the blog today I'm doing a review on Influenster's Rose VoxBox! I always get excited and heck, feel a little honored when I'm notified I'm getting one of these. I have yet to receive a crappy box. Let's check out and see what's inside this voxbox!

 Influenster Rose VoxBox

  Influenster Rose VoxBox

Sneak peek of what's inside (minus a belVita - I ate it before I could get a picture of it in the box!)

belVita crunchy Breakfast Biscuits in Blueberry - $3.69
Om nom nom! These were so good and I don't really even like blueberries. They contain no high fructose corn syrup and have 18-20 grains of whole grain per serving. I'll definitely be buying more of these. They're perfect for on-the-go!

Dr. Scholl's For Her Cozy Cushions - $12.49
These could not come at a better time! These are supposed to keep feet warm and dry while providing all day comfort. My Ugg's fluffy soles just started to come apart and I think these will be perfect for covering that up.

Kiss Gradation Polishes - $6.99
I already have one of these kits and loved it! This kit makes gradients so easy to make. I really love the colors and the fact that they include a glitter top coat.

Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles - $3.99
Yeah, I died when I saw these in the box. These are my favorite chocolates EVER. They're so smooth and when you bite into them, they have a creamy center that literally melts in your mouth. Thank goodness there's only three in this bag because it'd be a shame to share. What's that? You can share with three? I don't know what you're talking about.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara - $5.99
AWWWYUS! Apparently, the 60's are back! This mascara boasts to give a thicker, fuller, wide-eyed look without clumps. That is a tall order to fill. As the mascara maniac I am, you should be surprised to know I haven't tried this yet (say whaaa-?). I'll definitely post pictures on the old Insta (@xonoelle) when I do.

Vitabath Hydrating Lotion - $7.99
Select Influensters also received this lotion. It smells amazing! Very citrus-y without being overpowering. It's formulated with Aloe Vera, Safflower and Olive Oil and doesn't contain propylene glycol, phthalates (who can pronounce this one?), mineral oil nor synthetic color.

So that's my Rose VoxBox! What do you guys think? Are you currently part of Influenster? If not, what the heck are you waiting for? It's FREE, people! You don't have to do a single thing (except for some surveys to actually get you qualified for a box). Pretty ah-mazing, right? Hurry and go join!

October Favorites!

Must you leave so soon, October? I know I say this every single time, but October flew by so fast. I feel like I didn't get a chance to do everything I wanted like go see The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze or The Headless Horseman in New York. Wah. I guess there's always next year. What did you guys do this October?

Onto my favorites. I feel like I didn't try out much in October. Me quitting my job and having no moola might have something to do with that but it was kind of nice to just go back to good old faithfuls for a little while. So let's check them out!

 Starlooks Mineralized Translucent Powder
I have been using this stuff like crazy! It's so finely milled that when I put it on to set my foundation, you can't even tell it's there yet it helps my foundation and concealer to stay put.

Soap & Glory Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream
My hands are ready for the cold, dry weather this hand cream! I picked this up for $5 from Sephora after hearing rave reviews about it (and how yummy it smells!). Well, the rumors are true! This stuff is the bomb dot com. It smells amazing; like marshmallows and a whole bunch of sweet stuff mixed together and keeps my hands nice and soft without feeling super greasy.

LUSH Creme Anglaise
Another cream I've been loving but this one I use for my body (arms, legs, etc.). I bought this about forever ago and I still have so much in the container. A little goes such a long way with this. I remember I first tried this in a store last year and fell in love but the pricey tag made me stay away for about a year. Finally, I sucked it up and bought it and have been happy (and moisturized) since! The smell is pleasing to me but it might not be to everyone. Also, I find this a little greasy sometimes so I find wearing it to bed or right after a shower are perfect times for it to soak in.

Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel
Per usual, I fell in love with a product from my October Ipsy bag. I've always been a huge fan of Big Sexy Hair so I expected only the best results from this. I use this when my hair is damp and using a quarter sized amount of product, start underneath my hair and working my way up to the front and work it into my roots. Blow dry and wa-la: instant volume without feeling sticky or hard!

NYX Eye Crayon in Milk
I feel like this is one eye pencil every single person needs in their arsenal. It's so multi-purposeful (is that even a word? it is now.). I've used this as a primer on my lids to help make my eyeshadow pop, in my waterline to make my eyes appear bigger, on my face to give myself a ghostly white appearance for my skull make up for Halloween - the possibilities are endless!

Benefit High Beam
An oldie but always goodie! I've had this for quite some time and whenever I want a dewy or highlighted look, I pull this out! I really like the consistency of this and that I can blend it easily onto my cheekbones or mix it into my foundation.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Palette
I really, really need to do a review on this palette! It's such a beautiful and EXTREMELY pigmented palette. In all honesty, you don't even need a primer. I love this mix of colors and think they're perfect for fall.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Palette

NYX Matte in Natural and Indie Flick & Maybelline Lavender Voltage
By now, I think it's safe to say everyone knows how much I love NYX matte lipsticks. They're so pigmented and never feel dry on my lips. Natural is just a really pretty mauve "natural" looking lippie while Indie Flick is the complete opposite and bright red. Maybelline Lavender Voltage is this amazing purple lippie that's supposed to be a MAC Heroine dupe and is unfortunately LE but if you can find it, grab it!

T I M E Phone Case in Essentials Black
First off, go follow Ashley Swagner (@ashleyswagnerxo) on Instagram! She's the mastermind behind Time Los Angeles. I already have so many shirts from there and needed to have a phone case! This one says "Thick Wings, Cherry Lips, Long Lashes, Diamond Rings" How freakin' cute is that? Also, this case has passed the drop test, um, multiple times.

Munson's Ghost Chocolates
An October favorites post cannot be complete without Halloween candy! Om nom nom! Munsons is ah-mazing and I mean, c'mon, how cute are those little ghosties?

What I've Been Watching:
Sleepy Hollow - Oh God. I love this show. AND it's from the same people that brought me Fringe (anyone watch that?)
Ravenwood - I thought it might quench my PLL thirst until January. I'm still getting into it but I think I might like it.
Naked Las Vegas - Oh sweet Jesus. I love these shows! They're so incredibly talented.

What I've Been Listening To:
Whatever She's Got - David Nail
Sweet Annie - Zac Brown Band

So there's my October favorites. Anything you guys would try? What we're YOUR October favorites? Leave me links or comment on my FB page and share!
