Fashion | NYE Looks With SemSem.com

* Sponsored by SemSem.com

Stumped on what to wear for New Year's Eve? First off, I envy you because with two kids, I know exactly what I'll be wearing and I can tell you it'll be nothing close to a sparkly dress. Hint: they're incredibly stretchy and black. Second of all, the chances I see the ball drop are slim to none because this. mama. is. tired. y'all.

But for those who are going out, I've partnered up with SemSem.com to share with you a few of my favorites I'm lusting over from their site for some NYE inspiration!

Dresses:

How gorgeous are these dresses? The Laya Mini Dress is super fun and flirty with a sequined neckline and slit while the Aida Broderie Anglaise Short Dress (custom order) and the Lotus Short Dress bring the heat with sexy cut outs and lace.

Jumpsuits:

If you're celebrating outside or just enjoy a gorgeous jumpsuit, how stunning are these? I'm loving the slits in the pants in the Lana Jumpsuit as well as the sexy cut out in the Aisha Jumpsuit (and that orange - swoon!) and the sequins in the Layla Jumpsuit.

Jackets:

A jacket can pull together the whole look - and keep a girl warm! I'm loving the sparkles both the Dana Jacket and the Layla Jacket bring while keeping it classy with a blazer-type style. The Samia Biker Jacket has my heart, however, as I'm a sucker for a biker jacket and this one is so unique with the blue tweed. I'm in love!

What are you rockin' for New Year's Eve?

Beauty | Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

Hey guys! I've always liked Christmas but I've never been more excited about it than I am this year. I think it's the kids (our circle has gotten HUGE between us, my fiance's family and friends having kids) that are bringing the spirit back. Hunter is so excited for "Ho Ho" to come! We've started traditions (like cutting down our own tree on seemingly the coldest day ever for the second year in a row) and are hosting Christmas Eve again this year!

Anywho, I've been inspired to create a few holiday looks this year! I'm being ambitious with two kids but hey, 'tis the season! This look features a dark lip (my fave!) and a smokey burgundy eye.

My "what do you mean there's no more tacos left?" face.
  • FACE: Urban Decay Skin Perfector in Light is my absolute favorite thing ever right now and it's all I ever wear. It's enough coverage to smooth everything out but still let my skin breathe. It Cosmetics CC+ Concealer in Light is used to cover my super-duper dark circles and then set with Laura Mercier Brightening Powder. I used the Smashbox MasterClass 3 Palette's bronzer, contour and blush for this look. Highlighter in Urban Decay Highlighter in Sin.
  • EYES: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as a base, per usual. Then I used Makeup Geek's Steampunk on the lid (LOVE this shade!), Bedrock in the crease and Americano mixed in the crease as well as on the outer V and lower lid. tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara and then Ardell Wispies for my falsies. Brows are Full Brow wax and powder.
  • LIPS: ColourPop Matte Lippie in Notion (one of my top 5 fave dark lipsticks!)

Will be back in a few days for the next (super easy!) tutorial!

Lifestyle | Getting Your Pets Holiday Ready With Isle of Dogs + CocoClean

* Products were sent for review.

Guys, we are t-minus six days until Christmas and let's just say, it's getting pretty crazy over here. The kids have colds again, my phone is dunzo (but currently getting fixed - yay!) and we're hosting Christmas Eve so we're getting ready for that as well. Decorations are hung, Christmas cards are sent out, grocery lists are made, clothes are picked out and if you're like me, you have an idea of what makeup you're going to wear as well (if not, my latest copper/burgundy look is perfect!).

Everything is basically set - except the dogs! It wouldn't be right to call myself a beauty blogger if I didn't admit that I like to get my Yorkshire Terrier, Scarlett, holiday-ready with me. Usually it's just a nice bath and I ex-nay the makeup routine ;) Scarlett's long hair is a constant upkeep and requires a lot of maintenance - especially with her love of running around in the leaves and rolling in the dirt. #gag

That's why I'm obsessed with the CocoClean beauty products from Isle of Dogs, an amazing site that carries organic and all-natural canine health and beauty products that are made and sourced in the USA.

CocoClean products are all natural and contain coconut oil in a lot (if not all) of their products which in turn helps relieve itchy skin, reduces protein loss and strengthens hair, keeps hair smooth and soft and creates a stronger protective skin barrier.

  • CocoClean Xtra Clean Shampoo ($8.99) - The Xtra Clean Shampoo is ah-mazing! It removes all the dirt without being harsh on Scarlett's hair - even when you have to wash her four days in a row because she kept finding mud to play in. And the scent! Holy cow. The raspberries and champagne scent is to die-for. Someone bottle that in a shampoo for people and I am SO sold!
  • CocoClean Brush Spray ($8.99) - Did you know it's recommended to use brush spray before brushing your dog's hair? Probably in the same way we should use a detangler in ours so we're not pulling and tugging our hair out when we brush. This one contains coconut oil to keep everything silky smooth and hydrated. Again, I'm a huge fan of the scent! The Violet and Sea Mist mix keeps her smelling so pretty without being overpowering.
  • Isle of Dogs Violet and Sea Mist Repláscent ($9.99) - Gone are the days of that fun smell of wet dog and flowers! This odor-neutralizing spray completely neutralizes the odor instead of just adding to it. While this is not to be sprayed on your dog itself, it can be sprayed around the house and car.

As dramatic as this sounds, I swear, these will be the only products I ever use on my dogs again. I'm so, so impressed! The price point is so perfect ($8.99-$9.99), the scents are gorgeous and the shampoo leaves my dog's hair so incredibly soft. And on top of all of that, it's all-natural? Yes please!

Beauty | RAKUTEN Bloomingdale's Bonus Box

* RAN Bonus Box sent to me for possible review.

Oh goodness, y'all. What a week! My phone took a swim and then frizzed out, the kids have colds AGAIN - it's just been insane here. Nothing like the holidays, huh? Thankfully, the lovely, amazing people at Rakuten Affiliates know how to cheer a chick up and sent me this insane Bloomingdale's Bonus Box which is filled with products that I have said, at one point or another, that I need to buy. I kid you not. I'm so blown away and thankful! Let's check it out and see what's inside.

  • Tory Burch Love Relentlessly Perfume ($86) - Did you know this perfume was inspired by Tory Burch's parents? Her father once wrote a note to her mother in a newspaper that read, "If I told you I love you, would you hold it against me? Love, Relentless" D'awwww, how cute is that? I can't handle it. This perfume has a slew of different notes including: Pink Pepper, Pink Grapefruit, Sicilian Lemon, Sparkling Pear, Raspberry, Lychee, Rose Essential, Orris, Jasmine Sambac, Patchouli Heart, Ambertonic, Australian Sandalwood, Vetiver,  Cedarwood Heart and Tonka Bean Absolute. I was surprised, with there being a lot of fruit notes, that this didn't have a fun, fruity scent but rather a more mature, musky scent. I would definitely put this in my "Going Out" perfume collection.
  • Lancome Grandiose Extreme Mascara ($32) - Swoon, swoon, swoon! My first Lancome product ever. This mascara has a slightly more wet consistency than I usually go for but the cool "swan-neck" wand compensates for it as it helps the application be a little more precise. Can we also talk about how gorgeous the packaging is? Love!
  • Clarins Supra Volume Mascara ($27) - Another mascara? Yes, please! I'd say from the two, this one is my favorite. It has a slightly drier consistency that I like working with. It's infused with cassie flower wax and panthenol to strengthen and protect your lashes.
  • MAC G66 Lashes ($17) - I searched all over for these but couldn't find them. I'm pretty sure these are actually the "7" lashes which offer a more natural look with a little something extra. I've never tried MAC lashes before and found these to be way more comfortable than I thought they'd be. I'm a new fan!
  • MAC Ruby Woo ($17) - Ask any beauty blogger what their favorite red lipstick is and this bound to be in the top three. Ruby Woo is just that classic blue-toned red that looks absolutely stunning on everyone AND makes your teeth white. It's a win/win all around.
  • Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray ($29) - I have wanted to try thickening spray for so, so long! It's basically a setting spray for your hair that also thickens which is fabulous for my super thin hair. You can use it to add volume, lift, control, finish, protect and blow-dry. It's, so far, been the only hairspray that my hair hasn't hated yet.
* RAN Bonus Box sent to me for possible review.

LUSH | What's New for the Holidays

* Products sent for review.

Christmas has come early with these yummy new holiday threats from LUSH Cosmetics. I mean, honestly, it's always Christmas when LUSH is delivered to my door but these goodies are specifically new for the holidays and I'm so happy I get to show them to y'all.

  • Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion - I'm not sure if it's having two kids now or the copious amount of coffee I drink to keep up but I constantly feel wired. It takes a lot of effort to shut my brain off to go to sleep. While the Sleepy Lotion might not knock me out alone, the soothing scent of tonka and lavender does help me relax while the almond oil and cocoa butter soften my skin. It's a total win/win.
  • Jester Bubble Bar ($10.95) - Ahh, how fun is this? You can't see it in the picture but it even has a jingle bell on it! This little guy is a reusable bath bar (about two to three uses depending how long your baths are). Simply dip him in the bath tub and stir around for a little to release some zesty tangerine and Sicilian mandarin oils to revitalize yourself.
  • Sugar Plum Fairy Tinted Lip Balm ($9.95) -  "Sugar, yes please. Won't you come and put it down on meeeeeeee!" This subtle berry tinted lip balm is one of my favorites from LUSH during the holidays. It contains Kalahari melon, organic jojoba oils, wild orange oil and ripe berries for a fun, tropical scent that leaves a slightly shimmery berry tint on the lips.
  • Northern Lights Bath Bomb ($7.50) - Bring the Aurora Borealis straight to your bath tub with this ylang ylang and jasmine scented bath bomb. I love the colors of this one once in the tub (yellow, blue and green)!
  • Mistletoe Bath Bomb ($7.95) - According to LUSH's description of this, did you know mistletoe was used to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck to you?! I had no idea! This bath bomb is heavily scented when sitting (like, open the bathroom door and wa-bam! in your face) but once you actually use it in your tub, the jasmine scent isn't as strong. I read reviews that the purple stained tubs, skin, etc. but didn't have any issues with it and thought the show was very pretty!

POPSUGAR Must-Have Box | November 2016

POPSUGAR PROVIDED ME WITH A COMPLIMENTARY POPSUGAR MUST HAVE BOX.

Andddddd we're back! Apologies for the static on the blog the past week. We're just getting over a month-long cold and then Thanksgiving came so it has been nuts. I hope you all had a great holiday!

So, let's talk about this month's POPSUGAR Must-Have Box because it is amazing! I know, I know. I say that about every month but to be honest, guys, this is probably the best subscription box out there for the price. If you're unfamiliar with PopSugar Must-Have boxes, let me fill you in! It's a monthly subscription box delivered straight to your door filled with full-sized home, beauty, food, fashion products (legit, one of my favorite subscription boxes!). They also have a "mini" option that contains a smaller amount of products for a lesser price per month. The full-size box will run you $39.95 a month, $109.85 for three (saving you $10) or $214.70 for six months (saving you $25). The mini box will run you $18.95 per month.

Remember to use the code SHOP5 (never expires!) to give you $5 off your first POPSUGAR Must-Have Box!

What's in the box?

  • Kendra Scott Elaina Rose Gold Bracelet in White Pearl ($50) - Guys. I've been a long time fan of Kendra Scott jewelry but never bit the bullet to buy one because well, I have kids that love sparkly things and I'd hate the thought of them pulling on one and breaking it. Also, I have small wrists so I have a hard time finding bracelets that fit without sliding off. What's really cool about this bracelet is that it has a sliding closure (picture a super chic gold drawstring basically) that you can tug on to get the perfect fit. It's dainty, goes with everything and fits? I'm sold!
  • Pehr Chambray Runner in Wine ($44) - Excuse the wrinkles in the picture but this is so perfect for the holidays. The wine and off-white colors are so gorgeous together and give a little of that rustic farmhouse vibe I try to go for when decorating. I'll definitely be putting this out for when everyone comes over for Christmas Eve. Let the compliments roll in!
  • Stowaway Cosmetics Dawn to Dusk Palette ($25) - Oh my goodness, this palette is so precious! It comes in a super sturdy palette with a mirror on one side and eight day-to-night shades on the other and is a little bit larger than my palm. Yes, you read that right. This thing is tiny but so, so cute! *Cruelty free.
  • AJ Goods Nest Wire Bowl ($15) - Yes, yes, all the yes! I love this thing. For the holidays, you can pop some ornaments, candy canes or even jingle bells (is that what they're called?) for a festive feel or you could just store fruit, your keys or whatever in there. This baby is handmade in India so "each bowl has a story before it even reaches your front door". Ok. I need to know my bowl's story now!
  • Meri Meri Star Party Picks ($8) - At first, I didn't think I'd find a use for these but I think these would be great sticking in little Oreo truffles I'm making for Christmas Eve. My son also found a great use for them by using them as little magic wands. He stole them all, guys.
  • Ooogie's Snacks Gourmet Toffee Butter Popcorn ($2.99) - Funny story about these. That bag in the picture? Totally empty. My mom and I dove right into these before I could even get a picture of them. They're that delicious!

#GetHolidayReady | Silver Bells Holiday Look With Neutrogena

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GetHolidayReady#CollectiveBias

Guys. I don't want to alarm you but the holidays are literally right around the corner! And it's safe to say we all know what that means. It's time to break out that glittery eyeshadow and wing that liner to the high heavens because 'tis the season to glitter and shine like a disco ball, am I right? I'm pretty sure there's a quote about that in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special somewhere.

Today, I'll be showing you a Silver Bells-inspired look you can easily rock for your next holiday party featuring the Neutrogena® MoistureSmooth Color Sticks and the Neutrogena® Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes. The MoistureSmooth Color Sticks come in 16 different colors in ranging finishes from opaque to shimmer. They're super hydrating and even continue moisturizing your lips so they're softer and smoother in three days without anything on. The Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes are my absolute favorite makeup removing wipe and I always have a few on hand. They're great for removing makeup whether they're being used for a quick touch-up near a delicate area like the eyes or just removing a face full of makeup.

The best part? You can snag these babies along with your Christmas tree, decorations AND presents for everyone - all at your local Walmart! Let's all just take a moment to take in the beautiful, newly re-done beauty aisles at my Walmart, guys. I'm in love!

The Tutorial:

  • I've already gone ahead and moisturized as well as done my brows. Apparently, I've enlisted the help of two little friends on my face for this tutorial. Oh, hey guys. Nice of you to join in! #postbirthhormones, y'all.

  • Before applying any eyeshadow, I like to start with a neutral cream base all over the lid. This cancels out any veins, dark spots, etc. and basically leaves you with a clean slate. Once that is set, I went in with a light grey with purple undertones shadow in the crease and took it slightly above the crease and blended it out.

  • Once that shadow is blended it out. I went in with a darker grey shadow and took that in the crease and outer v of the eyelid and blended that into the lighter grey shadow.

  • Now for the fun part! Nothing says holiday like a good silver shadow! I took my most metallic silver shadow and applied it all over the lid with my finger. I find applying glitters and metallics with my finger seems to work best with minimum fall out and keeps the application nice and even.
  • In the case that there is fall out, I love using the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to clean up. They're gentle enough to be used around the eye area without irritating them and removing even the hardest glitter pieces.

  • For the bottom lids, I took the same dark grey shadow and applied that right on the waterline and blended out for a nice, smoked out look.
  • I applied a nice, soft champagne highlight in the inner corners to make my eyes look more awake. I also popped this onto my brow bones.

  • Next up, eyeliner! I decided to wing this out a little for a more dramatic effect with a liquid eyeliner pen.
  • Again, if you mess up or need to start over, the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to the rescue! For a more precise clean up, especially with liner, I wrap the towelette around my finger and kind of use my nail underneath to wipe away the problem without smudging everything. The towelettes remove even the toughest waterproof eyeliner!
  • Next, I apply my favorite mascara to prep my lashes for falsies.
  • After that, I dampened a beauty sponge and started to apply my foundation in a smooth, stippling motion. I, personally, like this technique as it keeps the foundation lightweight on my skin without giving a cake-y appearance.

  • With the opposite end of the beauty sponge, I take the point and apply my concealer. The point allows you to apply and blend the concealer in hard-to-reach-spots like near your eyes and around your nose.
  • Once the concealer is applied, I liked to "lightly bake" my concealer. I don't really go crazy with this part but I do like using this technique to set my concealer and help blend my contour. I apply the setting powder under my eyes and under my cheekbones with the same damp beauty sponge.

  • Taking a nice fluffy brush, I bronzed my forehead, cheeks and under my neck. Basically, anywhere the sun hits your face. Next, I applied a rose-colored cream blush to the apples of my cheek.
  • Lastly, I applied a bright highlighter to my cheekbones, brow bone, down the bridge of my nose and on the cupid's bow.

  • Almost done! No holiday is complete without some lashes! I applied a bold but still wispy pair of falsies for this look. I always have a tough time with falsies so I leave them until the end where I can muster up enough confidence to put them on!
  • To finish this look, I applied the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth ColorStick in Pink Nude onto my lips. This color is so gorgeous! Pink Nude is a subtle nude-y pink with a satin finish. It's incredibly moisturizing which is great with the upcoming dry winter. You can rock this at a holiday party or at a snowball fight and know that your lips will be protected and hydrated all the while looking fabulous!

The Stripdown:

The Neutrogena Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes make it so fast and easy to clean up! One wipe removes my entire face and leaves me time to kick my feet up and enjoy some hot chocolate while watching "The Grinch". Just kidding. I'm a mom. But if I didn't have kids, I'd totally have time to do that. Totally.

How do you keep moisturized in the winter?

ColourPop Fall Edits | Out And About, Can You Knot + Up And Away - Swatches & Review

Sheesh. I just got these and I'm already a season behind! ColourPop is releasing their winter collection today and it is simply stunning. But if you're looking to add onto that huge shopping order already, these should totally go in it! They first introduced their fall edits last month and it was definitely the lip colors in gorgeous shades of plums, terracottas and dusty roses that were calling my name. Needless to say, I was so happy to see they bundled them in these mini edits for $15 each. Come to mama, right? Let's check them out! PS. The sleeves they came in are too cute!

Can You Knot | The Plums

  • Hutch - a satin deep blackened violet.
  • Notion - a rich red violet matte.
  • Sookie - a rich plum creme gloss.
If you are looking for just one bundle to buy, this is definitely the one! I'm a total sucker for the dark lips in the winter and this has three gorgeous ones to choose from. In the above picture, they almost look exactly alike but they are definitely different as one is a satin, one's a gloss and one's a matte. Notion has a very liquid-y consistency - more so than any other matte I've had - but it's also not as drying at the other mattes I've tried from ColourPop. Sookie is a stunning, semi-opaque creme gloss that isn't too sticky. Hutch is my jam! I'm just totally obsessed with the satins and this one doesn't disappoint!

Out and About | The Roses

  • Barracuda - a satin warm deepened rose.
  • Times Square - a muted pink beige matte.
  • Viper - a matte true dusty rose.
Barracuda is the perfect rose for my fair complexion! It doesn't pull too orange or too dark but it's still on the warm side. It's just right! Times Square is a fabulous nude but pulls slightly orange on me. A lot of nudes do. Viper is so gorgeous and is basically Barracuda's cooler sister. Love it!

Up and Away | The Terracottas

  • Mama - a true burnt orange matte.
  • Calypso - a mid-tone pinky nude satin.
  • Love Bug - a rich terracotta matte.
I had already read reviews about Mama and Love Bug being pains-in-the-butts and were super dry and flakey but some had said that they recently changed their formula so that they weren't that bad. Mine were bad, guys. Love Bug was SO flakey and just horrible. Mama was better in consistency but equally dry. Calypso was fabulous but I honestly haven't had an issue with the satins yet.

L-R: Mama, Calypso, Love Bug, Notion, Hutch, Sookie, Times Square, Viper and Barracuda

Let's Get Tech-y | HiMirror

As a beauty blogger, there's nothing cooler than when technology and beauty mix to create something pretty killer and revolutionary - and getting to be one of the first to try it out!

Today, I'll be sharing with you the HiMirror, a state-of-the-art mirror with a built-in camera that analyzes your skin and in return gives you a customized skincare plan to address those issues, created by leading dermatologists. From wrinkles and red spots to pores and just about every skin issue between, HiMirror offers you a sixty-day skincare plan in five different categories according to their Skin Index Synthesis: clarity, texture, firmness, brightness and healthiness and lets you can record a picture daily to track your progress. On top of that, it can connect with the Smart Body Scale (sold separately) to track your weight and BMI, stream music, give you the local weather (with humidity levels!) and let you scan your skincare products with the Beauty Box feature by barcode to keep track of all your skincare products.

PHEW! Now that you've got the gist of it, let's talk setting it up! HiMirror recommends hanging it on a clean, dust-free surface.

How to mount your mirror up:

To mount the mirror on a mirror:
  • Remove the backing from the adhesive tape on the cardboard assistor that comes with the mirror and attach the large rectangle of the bracket by aligning the mark.
  • Make sure the line of the cardboard assistor is at eye level and then stick to the wall/mirror.
  • Remove the remaining backing and press firmly. Allow at least 24 hours to let the adhesive stick nicely before mounting the mirror.
To mount the mirror on the wall:
  • Remove the backing strip and stick the cardboard assistor that comes with the mirror and attach the large rectangle of the bracket.
  • Make sure the line of the cardboard assistor is at eye level and screw the bracket into the wall.
  • Remove the assistor and you're good to go!
Once the mirror is mounted, turn the mirror on and connect the HiMirror to your wifi. To do that, download the HiMirror app (available on Androids and iPhones) and connect to the HiMirror's wifi. Once you go through setting your profile up and learning the motions, you'll take your first picture to be analyzed. Once you've done that, the results will automatically be available on your phone through the app as well as on the mirror. Even if there's no wifi or low wifi, you can still use the HiMirror for skin analysis. Once the connection is back, it'll be saved to your profile!

Here's my first skin analysis!

Naturally, my fiance was super interested in this and wanted to check out what the HiMirror thought about his skin. Good news: you can add up to four different profiles on the HiMirror to record their progress as well!

The Mirror:

The HiMirror itself is a sturdy five pounds. It has quite a few safety and privacy features including "shutters" for the camera on top of the mirror that you can open or close for privacy and whatnot. It also has data protection as well as facial recognition so only you can "open" your profile. Other features include voice commands and sensors that recognize your hands to navigate around. The mirror also lets you know the time, weather conditions and lets you stream music from Spotify. The mirror has seven categories to chose from: HiSkin, My Routine, Skincare, Body & Fitness (to be used with the Smart Body Scale), My Beauty Box, Media Center and Settings that you can navigate through hand gestures or voice command.

Smart Body Scale - Once connected to your HiMirror, the Smart Body Scale provides a body analysis by analyzing your body type and lets you know your weight, body fat percentage, BMI, BMR, total body water, muscle mass and bone weight.

The App:

HiMirror - the OG app and the one you will need to have to connect to the others and the mirror itself. It's super easy to use and sends all of your results right to your fingertips! Once you've downloaded the app, connect it to the HiMirror using its own wifi. On the app, you can access your skin analysis, goals, any changes, skin symptoms, your skincare process, the Beauty Box and more!

The Beauty Box is my favorite feature (on both the app and the mirror)! It allows you to scan the barcode of your skincare products to keep track of them and their effectiveness. Currently, there's not a whole lot of products the barcode recognizes but you can enter those in manually. Basically, this app is there to check up on your current measurements on-the-go!

My thoughts:

So, I have to admit the whole idea of the HiMirror is pretty awesome but there are a few issues that you have to get used to when using it/things that need to be worked out.

  • Voice Commands / Hand Gestures - In a world where just about everything is touchscreen, this is not (I'm going to go with because duh, it's a mirror and mirror + fingerprints = no bueno) so that's where the hand gestures/voice commands come in. A simple hand movement up, brings you up. Down will bring you down. To the right will accept and left will go back. They recently rolled out their voice commands but I haven't be able to work with them much.
  • Finding Things - Once I received my skin analysis, I had no idea where to go to next. Was a custom routine supposed to just pop up after? Eventually, I figured out that I had to get out of that screen and pick my own routine (selecting one from the Skin Index Synthesis) and then went from there. It's just a lot of figuring things out and I'm sure once it's more streamlined and works out all the bugs, it'll be easier to navigate around.
  • Losing Connection - My HiMirror lost connection to my wifi, following an update. Thankfully, they're sending a fix soon. There's a silver lining to this because I got to see their customer service side and it is FABULOUS. They're constantly working on making things right and sending out updates to fix bugs. I'm super impressed!
Overall: I really like the HiMirror but I think it's in the beginning stages and will just keep getting better and better as more and more things get worked out. Right now, it's just a little tough to navigate but I think once the kinks are smoothed out, it'll be great! I appreciate that the HiMirror is connected to an app on my phone as I'm always on-the-go and like to check up on things.

What's your favorite feature on the HiMirror? Is this something you would buy?

FOTD | Teal Gloss + Light Eyes With Solotica Official Lenses

* Solotica Lenses sent for an honest review from Lens Republica.

Let's ignore the fact that I had to re-apply these lashes at least three different times and that I went a little heavy on the blush because it's been a longgggg time since my face has been on here. I think I'm feeling more adjusted (and I say that quietly so the kids don't hear me!) to a toddler and two month old life. Before, I felt so spread thin and had no time for myself but I think I'm starting to get the hang of juggling it all. Kind of. Sort of.

Anywho, onto the post. I'm pretty excited about this one because it brings me back to a time where it's literally all I wore. Can you figure out what I'm talking about?

I'm wearing colored contacts - Solotica Official Lenses in Hidrocor Ocre, in particular! Aren't they the most stunning things ever? I used to wear colored contacts all the time when I was younger. I've had green, brown and blue prescription lenses and could never leave the house without them. I do have to admit though that they've never been this comfortable before. I'm in love! They're incredibly easy to pop in that even beginners should have no issues wearing them. Colored contacts are such a fun way to change your entire look without have to commit to something permanent. Solotica has lots of different types of looks to their contacts so you can find that works for you but all of them are super natural looking.
