If you follow at least one mommy blogger on Instagram, you probably know what these are. Honestly, as extra as it is, it's one of our newest and most favorite tradition that really gets the kids (okay, and me) into the Halloween spirit. I'm talking about Boo Baskets! I love putting together a little somethin' somethin' filled with some fun, spooky things. Boo Baskets are given on October 1st, so the kids can enjoy the goodies all month long but I'm not a stickler about that and think they can be given whenever!

WHAT'S IN OUR BOO BASKETS:

  • Wire Baskets ($5) - I spotted these wire baskets in the Target Bullseye's Playground area a few weeks ago and thought they'd be perfect for a boo basket that can than be utilized into something else easily. In the past, I've used their trick-or-treat bags as their basket as well.
  • Tags ($5) + Tassels - The tags are from Whimsical Darlings Co. on Etsy! They're printables so you'll get an instant download of them after you buy them and can print them out whenever you need them! This collection also has "You've Been Boo'd!" tags which is something we do every year as well! As for the ghost tassels, they were a super duper easy DIY and I love how they came out. You can learn how to make them here!

  • Pajamas (Monster/Mummy - sold out/Pink Pumpkins) - Number one favorite thing to pop into their baskets! The boys get so excited over fun, themed pajamas. Old Navy has so many good options for $10 (!!!) but Gap comes through with amazing quality. The kids wear these jammies 24/7/365 because they love them so much.
I have a list of our favorite Halloween jammies for this year here!
  • Books - Another crowd pleaser! I also consider it a mom win because my kids love reading them and I'm just over here making their library bigger at the same time. We love reading these books all year 'round! This year, we added Ghost Afraid of the Dark by Sara Conway, Monster Trouble by Lane Fredrickson and Hardly Haunted by Jessie Sima to our library!

  • Fillers - Back to Target's Dollar Spot for these with a stop at the Dollar Tree. I grabbed a few $1 puzzles and bubble wands from Target that the boys will love as well as a bat-shaped bath bomb for each of them. From the Hyde & Eek area, I grabbed some cat and pumpkin glasses ($3) and spider rings ($1)! From Dollar Tree, I grabbed a skull cup with straw. Are those not the coolest things ever?
